The club has been operating a Tecnam Sierra microlight sport plane for training and club trips.This operates on a different licence than a PPL and is much simplified and caters for the recreational , fun flyer. While being a proffessionally built aluminium aircraft capable of a 115knot cruise, with sophisticated instruments, it is lighter and easier to fly. Suitable for any age it is the perfect entry level machine. The club offers a no obligation trial flight package at just $100 for those wishing to experience a hands on training flight before committing to lessons. Hauraki Aero Club is now on facebook and twitter thanks to Club Captain Rick Watson who is keen to promote the club more to promote more flying, more training, more trips and get the social side of the club reactivated after a couple of lean years during the economic downturn.The club has held it's prices at the same rates as 2 years ago to try to make it more attractive for new members to learn to fly with the club.

Hauraki Aero Club gliding division is non operative at this time as the CFI is unable to give time to flying at the moment. If you are suitably qualified and would like to apply for the position please contact the president.
The club is a mainly volunteer group and so most flying is of an impromtu type. The Tecnam instructor Cliff McChesney is available most days by appointment, weather permitting and there are fly away days periodically to other airfields and clubs. The club has a great kitchen and public lounge area. Visitors are most welcome and membership is open at the moment for new flying and social members.

The NAAG has been quiet over the winter but Keep an eye on the page as the weather will be on the improve from now on and day and overnight trips will be more likely to happen.
